CORNELIUS CLIFFORD
Professor Cornelius Clifford
"I have been asked, by those scholarly fellows at
Dreamworlds, to write an introduction to my good friend,
Cornelius Clifford. He is, first and foremost, a scholar of the Hidden
Realms. And the study of this world has been his passion and his life's work."
Archibald Singebeard III, archivist to His Most
Gracious Highness, Lord Bootlebane, Earl of Killifric

A Froob

The Froobs are a tribe of forest
folk who, unusually for Fae people, grow long beards. |
"Cornelius travels extensively in the Hidden
Realms. There he studies the peoples and cultures of that
World Beyond Realities Edge. The Fae Folk of the
forest are of particular interest, as are Drakes and Dragons, The
Kindred of Stone (Dwarves) for some reason appeal to him. Also, the
incredible fantasy architecture and buildings of the various
countries he visits are an important area of study. I would not say Master Clifford is an
adventurer ~ although I dare say he has had a goodly number of
adventures! More that he is an academic who is not frightened of, and in
fact genuinely relishes, going out into the field and seeing things in the flesh,
rather than just studying other books, as lesser scholars are
inclined to do." |
"Professor Clifford is always
welcome at the University of Imradd; the foremost palace
of learning in the Hidden Realms. He can count as close friends a goodly
number of the scholars there, including experts in the Department of
Antiquities, Scribes and Printing, a number of wizards in several of the leading
Magic Colleges, and even some Fae folk in the Department of Fae
Studies." Finglesson Stonechipper, Acting Head of Dwarvish and
Underworld studies, Imradd.
A rustic Fae caravan

Another of Cornelius's
sketches, this time of a rustic and thatched Fae Caravan, somewhere in
the Woodland Realms and used during one of their regular migrations
along the ancient Faerie roads, no doubt.
"Despite having a foot in two
very different worlds Cornelius manages to be fair and loyal in both. He
has written many authoritative papers on a wide range of magical and
fantastic or fantasy subjects. Some of these have been included in the
Great Encyclopaedia Imradd, others have been published in by
Dreamworlds."
In affection and admiration,
Archibald Singebeard III

A Niggle Elder

This Elder of the Niggle tribe is
a miserable old fellow, however he is wise in
the ways of the Wild Forest and a font of knowledge when it come
to studying the Forest Tribes of the Hidden Realms |

Fantasy Fiction Books

Books, mainly on the subjects of Fantasy
and Fantastic Fiction, are Cornelius's main area of interest and, if
there is a library around, that is where he will almost certainly be
found. |

"He's a jolly good
chap, that Cornelius, even if some of his ideas (when it comes to talking of The Kindred) can be a bit fanciful and
flighty. However, I can heartily recommend several of his books,
especially the enthralling 'Dolg' book of maps & etc. It has
made me determined to revisit the old place again ~ I had no
idea there were seventeen levels and around a thousand chambers
and halls! That great tome is, without doubt, the Delving Dwarf's Dream!"

Grimstone, Dwarvish Ambassador to the Northern Empire |

Flying Faerie of the Forest

There are many
tribes and kingdoms of Winged Faeries in the Forests of the
Hidden Realms and Cornelius has sketched a few like this one. |
