ABOUT THE FAIRY PRESS

Professor Cornelius Clifford

Cornelius Clifford at his desk, writing about the Hidden Realms

The fairy Press is a small press in Cornwall specialising in publishing fantastic fantasy fiction by Cornelius Clifford and his colleagues. Books of faerie tales, guides and sketchbooks about, and fantastic stories set in, the mysterious and magical world where Professor Cornelius collects his material; The Hidden Realms. One of the worlds beyond reality's edge.

The peoples and creatures of this magic and fantastical other world are a source of wonderment and fascination to Master Clifford. Who could resist the Fae Tribes? The Noggles, the Elves, the Fungles and the Wisp Sky Riders ~ these are tribes of forest folk who dwell deep within the wild wood. Most Fae peoples live in tree houses or travelling house carts and spend the majority of their time hunting and collecting food, preparing it, eating it and then singing and dancing afterwards. They simply have no time or interest in jobs or money or dull things of that nature.

Another area of interest to the Professor is the great range of magical creatures and monsters that are relatively commonplace in the Hidden Realms. Dragons are a special area of interest for Cornelius, along with variants such as flying serpents, fire drakes, and the great worms of the mountains. He has also produced studies of The Kindred of Stone (dwarves) and of those foul denizens of the underworld; Goblins. Who else has studied and described their extreme unpleasantness in such abhorrent detail?

Cornelius has written so much material, and drawn so many sketches, that the time of the Dwarves at the Fairy Press is entirely consumed by bringing this work together for your delectation.

The industrious Dwarves, (plus one or two hobbits and a handful of Faeries) of the Fairy Press are tucked away in rural Cornwall, where they occasionally print books, stories, sketchbooks, maps, prints and cards.
